1. Why was ADR outerwear chosen in combination with NON-ADR underwear?

At Schenk, safety always comes first. We strive for a uniform, consistent, and clear clothing policy that applies to all driving colleagues in all countries, at all customer locations, and meets the highest and increasingly stringent safety requirements for loading and unloading the respective product. This principle underlies the choice of ADR-certified outerwear combined with NON-ADR underwear.

The clothing package has been deliberately composed using high-quality materials with a minimum fabric thickness that meets standards for maximum protection and optimal comfort. The outer layer is ADR-certified and provides a robust barrier against chemical and thermal risks, while the NON-ADR underwear is lightweight and breathable, designed for comfort outside ADR-related tasks. This combination offers a safe, practical, and comfortable solution tailored to the diverse working conditions of our employees.
The clothing package is also modular, allowing colleagues to vary layers and materials depending on their own temperature perception. Lighter underlayers are suitable for warmer conditions, while extra insulation in winter provides more comfort. For all ADR-related tasks, it is always mandatory to wear a closed, certified jacket or overall as the outermost layer—for personal safety.

We understand the concern that the package may feel less comfortable on hot days. However, as we are now entering the winter period, we expect few to no issues in the coming months. During this time, we will gain experience with the new package and closely monitor performance and wearing comfort. At the same time, we look ahead: insights and requirements regarding ADR clothing continue to evolve, and technology is advancing. There are indications that thinner fabrics offering the same level of protection may become available in the future. Based on our experiences and technological developments, we will revisit this topic next summer.

2.a How does ordering workwear from mid-october onwards?

From mid-October, all workwear must be ordered via the Schenk company clothing portal provided by Wiltec. The product range has been carefully selected to match your work activities.

You cannot order the entire package at once; you may order a clothing item or shoes once the usage period of your current item has expired. The order history from the previous supplier will be transferred, so the system knows exactly what you are entitled to. If you are eligible for a new item, you can order it via the Wiltec Online Portal.

2.b Why can I only order clothing using my Schenk email address?

For security and manageability reasons, the use of the Schenk business email address has been chosen. This offers several advantages:
Better security: Business accounts are protected with additional security measures such as multi-factor authentication.
Management during staff turnover: Access can be easily revoked upon departure.
Support and uniformity: IT can assist more quickly with login issues, and using one type of email address prevents errors.
Privacy and GDPR: Business addresses are managed by Schenk and better comply with privacy regulations.
Traceability: Activities in the portal are linked to the business account, ensuring clarity.

Using your Schenk email address is not only safer, but also convenient as access rights are fully tailored to your work at Schenk.

2.c Have you not yet activated your Schenk email address?

3. What else is changing with the new clothing package?

The new package is more extensive than the current one. You can now create a mix of 5 shirts, choosing from short or long sleeve polos and a shirt. From January 2026, the package will be further expanded with additional items such as rainwear, a warm sweater, and a thermal set.

In October, a survey will be conducted to ask whether you would like to order these extra items in 2026.

4. What packages are available and how do I know which one applies to me?

Different packages have been assembled based on your work activities:

• ADR shift packages for drivers with frequent loading and unloading
• ADR shift packages for drivers within B2B/PG routes
• ADR long haul package for colleagues who drive a lot with few stops
• NON-ADR packages for drivers and mechanics

In our HR systems, you are linked to the work you perform. Based on this data, you are automatically assigned the appropriate clothing and footwear package.

5. Can the catalogue and communication also be in Dutch, German, and French?

The catalogue has been created in English for an initial impression. When you log into the Wiltec portal in October, the description of all items will be available in your own language (French, German, English, Dutch). The portal interface is also in your language.

6. How do I order safety shoes via Wiltec?

The range of safety shoes offered via Wiltec has been carefully selected in collaboration with Schenk SHEQ and the supplier Wiltec. Special attention has been paid to the type of work you perform, so the shoes match your working environment as closely as possible.

Please note:
As of October 1st, shoes can only be ordered via the Schenk company clothing portal at Wiltec.
Reimbursements for shoes purchased independently will no longer be accepted.

Medical condition?

Do you have a medical condition that requires specific footwear?
Please contact your PPE team so we can discuss the available options together.

7. How does it work for new colleagues?

New colleagues receive shoes, a safety vest, helmet, gloves, goggles, and an overall at the start. After the probation period (on average 1 month), they receive the full clothing package. During the introduction day (or the day they sign their contract), new colleagues try on their full package so that sizes are accurately recorded in the system.

8. Where can I go with questions or feedback about the clothing package?

You can always email: ppe@schenktanktransport.eu

Wiltec also has a helpdesk for questions about ordering via the new portal. More information will follow soon, including a user manual.

9. For our German colleagues: How does ordering work for German colleagues with a customer-specific package?

For some German customers, a separate procedure applies for providing workwear:

Air Liquide DE, Linde Gas DE, Nippon Gas DE, Westfalen:
Clothing packages for colleagues driving for these customers are not provided via Wiltec, but via the office in Gelsenkirchen. You will receive your clothing directly from the Gelsenkirchen office and not via the Wiltec Online Portal.
BP LPG, Grossgas, WAG, Tzychka, Air Products:
For colleagues driving for these customers, workwear is provided via Wiltec. If you drive for one of these customers, you order via the Wiltec Online Portal, just like other colleagues.

Do you have questions about your specific situation? Then contact your supervisor or the PPE helpdesk.

10. What happens with the final deliveries from VeiligGoed?
  • The webshop of our current supplier, VeiligGoed, closed on 26 September. In preparation for the transition to Wiltec, Schenk’s stock at VeiligGoed was phased out. Colleagues who were still entitled to items could order them until 26 September, while stocks lasted.
  • From that point, clothing items were actively sent to colleagues who were still entitled to them. We understand that some colleagues may not have wanted to receive these items, preferring to wait for the new package. However, the policy was to settle all remaining clothing entitlements via VeiligGoed before the transition.
  • From 15 October, all distribution will be handled via Wiltec, and you can only order via the Wiltec Online Portal once you’re eligible for a new item.
11.a. Are fitting sessions still being organised?

No, we no longer organise fitting sessions on location.
However, our new supplier Wiltec has carried out extensive work by measuring all items from the current clothing package and comparing them with the new collection.
Based on this, a size recommendation has been created, which you will automatically see when you log into the new ordering portal.

11.b. How do I know I’m ordering the right size?

Since sizes can vary between brands, we recommend measuring yourself carefully using the size charts available in the portal. This is especially important now that we offer both width and length sizes, for example in trousers and shoes.

New: The new collection includes trousers in length sizes. With the available width and length options – from short to long – we can provide everyone with a perfectly fitting pair. Make use of this!

Please note:
We no longer offer an alteration service and do not reimburse alteration costs.
All workwear is the property of Schenk and must not be altered by employees or third parties. This is essential to maintain the integrity of the garment and ensure compliance with safety standards.

By checking your measurements carefully:

  • you avoid returns,
  • receive the correct size right away,
  • and contribute to a more efficient ordering process.

For new employees, the full clothing package is fitted during the introduction day. These measurements are stored in the Wiltec Online System and used to determine the final clothing package.

12. Can I have my workwear altered?

No, altering workwear is not permitted.
The clothing you receive via Wiltec is the property of Schenk and must not be modified. This is essential to maintain the integrity of the garment and to comply with safety standards.

Therefore:
we no longer offer an alteration service, and alteration costs will not be reimbursed.

Tip: Use the size charts available in the portal and measure yourself carefully. The new collection includes both length and width sizes, so you can choose the right fit straight away—no alterations needed.

PLEASE NOTE: We make exceptions for replacing broken zips in VeiligGoed parkas. If a zip is broken, please report this to PPE. You can then have the repair carried out at a local sewing workshop and submit the claim. These costs will be reimbursed.
